Is the offical web presence of
Mr Drendel und Mr Weitzel
We,work together in our spare time on building V12 engine models on a scale of 1:4.
How this Website came to be:
We have been friends for many years and we would like to introduce you to our project.
Mr. Drendel had already been building different types of Models in his free time and I, Mr Weitzel, was looking for a new private enterprise.
Since we both had already received technical degrees, our union under common interests was a logical step.
The beginning of working together:
The Visitors of our website were so interested in Mr. Drendel’s models that I received very positive feedback soon after creating the site. Since then, our most popular model has been the air cooled V12 engine.
An air cooled single cylinder (or two cylinder) engine at a ¼ Scale to the original, was not our original idea. Many automobiles, planes, and watercrafts from the forties were built with standard V12 engines. These motor vehicles are often used today as a guideline for model engines. The models on the market today are mostly air cooled engines with a style designed for mass consumption. There are practically no direct copies of the original engines from the forties available. We see the exclusive sale and manufacture of these model engines as our future.
The development of our concept:
Through our technical experience and understanding of the possible chances of market success, we developed the idea of a water cooled six cylinder straight engine for highly maneuverable models at a scale of 1:6. Our models are exactly like the REAL gas engines, with oil motors and real spark ignition. I soon developed blueprints from our first ideas. Ralf prepared for the building of the models with the help of a CNC machine. Through our website grew an ever increasing interest in the development of our V12 engines. Consequently we focused ourselves on our project which allowed for the construction of V12 engines.
The production of exclusive V12 model engines for models at a scale of 1:4, just like the original engines of the forties, which are even still around today. We understand the building of an exclusive V12 model engine to mean the duplicating of the original engines as closely as possible but on a smaller scale. We would especially like to devote ourselves to building the DB605, HL 230 P 45,Allison V7010 und Rolls-Royse Merlin 23 engines which will make our engines one of a kind. Of course it takes time to build such an engine. Since we are developing a prototype in our free time, I hope you will cut us a break.
Concluding thoughts:
Now it might be a good idea for various reasons to build a simple combustible engine or an electric engine for the mass market. But in all honesty a model engine just like the original has a lot more character, right? Petrol Engines will soon only be found in antiques and therefore I would like to offer this wonderful technology to the interested model enthusiast. A spitting V12 model engine is a totally different experience than a simpler combustible engine.
Sincerely Sven Weitzel
